In my defense, I did mention in the OP it was a fink.
In my ignorance, I wouldn't know what difference it would make
Diagonal bracing.
Trusses are designed to work as one whole roof, so bits can't be removed without justifying that the rest of the roof is not impacted. It's not like rafters where one can be removed and compensated for.
You could submit the application and see what happens.
I'm really not sure my roof has any of that, apart from maybe the longitudal bracing.

Hi Rainking, I realise this is an old thread, but did you manage to get this through in the end?
I'm also struggling to get SE's to respond to the work. My thoughts were to do as you have done and see where things go. Did you ever need load calcs? My roof joists are 47x150mm at 450mm spacing so I'd need to cut about 3 rafters as the velux is 1.8m x 1.4m.

Ok I've now seen someone has resurrected this thread 
For the original thread of Velux fitting in a truss roof, Velux make the CK size range which is 55cm wide and doesn't need any trusses altering.
