Hi all

I went to open the door on my Neff H7871 microwave combi oven and it made a "pop" noise. Normally the light should come on.

The fuse in the switched spur is fine, as is the only fuse that I can find in the microwave, additionally the bulb is fine.

A quick visual inspection shows discolouration (and very, very slight) blistering on the leads running from the transformer to the Panasonic magnetron. However (thus far) I can't see any evidence of them having shorted. Besides, as I said, the oven stopped working the moment that I opened the door (I wasn't telling it to nuke or heat anything).

Does anyone have any links to the engineer repair manual or suggestions as to what went wrong?

Tnx

The pop noise seems to have been one of the relays on the PCB...

Need to work out if getting the PCB repaired is gonna be cost effective.

TBH, I am not awfully confident with a solder iron and a PCB. One of my best friends used to be an engineer at Marconi so I guess he could give me some pointers. The burnout seems to have damaged the tracks on the PCB as well.
