Bulger killer charged with child porn offences

inability to empathise makes him criminally and morally insane. .

On the other hand, such raw emotions aren't good for one's "soul".
He`s a classic Psychopath - or whatever they call it now  Sociopath , I think . But a psychopathic person can be OK `ish and get by in society - although leave a trail of " ****ed off " people in their wake . Or they can be an Evil Psychopath . Born like it not made

So are you saying that if someone is 'evil' they're 'mentally ill'?

In my opinion, the very fact that these wan**rs can live with themselves after what they have done demonstrates that they are abnormal and have some sort of physical (within their brain) disorder. In the case of venables, it is quite clear that he will not ever be able to break out of this train of thought without a full frontal labotomy with a rusty nail.

But would you want him sedated whilst the frontal lobotomy was carried out?
I can lend you a hammer, and I do have a couple of 6" very rusty nails somewhere. ;) ;) ;)

I think I may need some alcohol to do this - after some potent Polish vodka, I become quite myopic. Luckily, when I turn off my hearing aids (leaving the silicon plugs in my ears) I become quite deaf.

Too right. Which doesn't mean curable, nor that they should be hospitalised with access to sky HD and Xboxes

Gentlemen, I fully understand your anger with this piece of excrement but considering the acts of violence he committed against that little boy I respectfully request that you refrain from referring to what you would and/or wouldn't like to do to him.

Fair enough, but this sort of thing does generate an emotive response which is sort of what I referred to in my opening remark:
It's a difficult thing - dealing with our hatred for the sickening acts carried out by mentally ill people.

Like Hindley, he will never be released; and his occasional appearance in the press over the course of his life will enable us to vent our outrage and venom. Sadly, it will not act as a deterrent to others - such is the nature of this form of aberration.

As I said JM, I fully appreciate yours and others anger. I suspected the thread would go down that path but it's a story that merits discussion on here as the forum is lucky enough to be frequented by a number of very intelligent people. I'm here to learn. God knows I've got a LOT to learn!

Thank you for your understanding by the way.

EDIT: I still don't agree that 'Evil' = 'Mental Illness'.

I struggle to see what else it can be, although I would be inclined to use an "implies" sign ==> rather than "equals":

Evil ==> mentally ill, but not the reverse

This would allow for different "treatments" for different types of ailments

So was Hitler just mentally ill and had he been caught he should have spent the rest of his days in hospital?

Was Ian Huntley just mentally ill? Should he have spent the rest of his days in hospital?

Was/is Josef Fritzl mentally ill and should now spend his time in hospital?

Fred West....

etc

etc

Quite probably. We used to have hospitals for the criminally insane (straight jackets, heavy sedation, padded cells, complete isolation (no TV's, radio, etc). This is the sort of hospital that could and should be reintroduced, from which there is no release nor hope of it since a request for release would be evidence enough that the "person" isn't cured.

Think this would be a far more agreeable solution than a prison with all the mod-cons, and would reflect the degree of the inmates' sicknesses

I think the padded cells, straight jackets etc were banned by the softly softly brigade. The fact that prison has 'mod-cons' is another debate on its own! Why TV, radio, newspapers, magazines, etc, etc are allowed is ridiculous. The same is true for 'probation'. If you're a good boy/girl when you're in there you get probation for being 'good'! If they'd been 'good' they'd never have wound up in prison in the first place! REMOVE PROBATION, REMOVE TV, RADIO, etc etc. Make them earn their keep.

Another Parole Board Cockup.

It is just fortunate that this time another small child was not murdered:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/10369277.stm

Just watch his legal team (who are raking in tax payers money, defending this slimeball), get it sorted so that a jury is not required and so his ID can be 'protected' again.

Quite. Given the need for cutbacks, I can't help but feel that prison is a good place to start. How about limited access to electricity, very cheap food, no sky tv or similar, and limited access out of their cells. In that way we could let the number of guards reduce through natural wastage and make huge savings in running costs.

Given that we import loads of cheap clothes from sweatshops, I see a perfect place here for free labour. Nothing made to sell, no food. Simple.

If you don't like it, don't commit crimes.
