Burnt Switch

Hi

I did some DIY today, removing the self-installed 20 A switch for my bathroom towel rail.

On rescrewing it to the box, the live load wire seems to have become trapped between the switchplate and back box, pressing the live conductor into the metal box as it was screwed tight.

So when I switched back on at this switch... FLASH, BANG ! 10 A MCB tripped instantly, as you'd expect.

My question: Is this likely to have damaged the contacts within my switch? Should I replace it or will it be OK to replace the short load cable to the bathroom and reuse the existing switch?

the switch should be ok, The current will have been extremely brief due to the mcb.
