Is it as simple of making a channel in the wall to run the cable up and then plaster over or does the cable need to be in a conduit of some sort and at a certain depth? It's the inside of and external wall btw.

Also What is the best way to make the hole in the wall for the extractor?

Thanks, James :)

As long as you stay within the permitted area's of the wall there is no depth restriction and you are best to bury the cable with a metal or plastic capping and plaster over.

Wiring in the bathroom is slightly restricted now with part P and shower installation a high safety area which need's to be carried out with due care. If you are unaware of the permitted area's or part P requirements I would think carefully about starting such work as a DIY job.

Hole's for extractor are best cut with a hole cutter which you can buy from hire shops to go in a decent enough hire drill to drill through most wall's. (Am assuming it is a brick cavity wall). Or you could stich drill and chip it out which may create a more messy hole finish.
