Hello there.... Looking for a bit of advice, regarding fitment of an extractor fan in a bathroom..... at present we have an extractor fan (exterior wall mounted), pull cord operated type, which is being fed from a switched fused connection unit, which is situated inside the bathroom..... approx 75mm, below the ceiling level.......
1. is this ok?..... or does it need to be an unswitched type?
2. The whole installation is being fed to the fused connection unit from a socket outlet, in an adjacent kitchen, in metallic conduit, buried in the wall/plaster...... this is an old system, which is not protected by a rcd..... I know its in a bathroom, but if its supplied by wiring "inside" the metallic conduit...... does it need it?..... Many thanks.
