C-Max bonnet lock

I removed the front grill to replace the cover for the bonnet lock on my Ford C-Max. When I replaced everything and closed the bonnet I was unable to open it again. I suspect that the locking mechanism has somehow come away from the catch that holds the bonnet down. Is this possible and if so is there anything I can do about it without taking into a dealer?

if its anything like the galaxy you might be able to gain access from under the car you might have to take the under tray off though.
