I have a recently rewired my house. Anyway after running all the cables and wiring everything up. A plumber has then come in and ran his pipe work down the same joists space i have used for my cables/50w halogen lights in the kitchen. Obviously i was not best pleased. I've managed to move all the cables as far as possible away from the pipes as possible and then covered them in foam insulation.

Has anyone got any advice / will that be ok ?

It doesn't matter.

50mm. will do.

and then covered them in foam insulation.
Not a good idea but it 's not really important for lighting circuits -
(may be an issue if 12V).

I meant the central heating pipes rather than the cables.

Thanks for your reply

Are you talkin "following the joists" or through your holes you've made through joists to run the cables?
