calculating how much water is in a system

how do you calculate how much water would be in a system?
to determine what size water expansion vessel would be needed.
including all the pipe work, HWSC etc.

Work out how many Kw your system is and allow 8 litres per Kw, as a rough guide at least.

Do you know how to work it out if the boiler was a back boiler from a solid fuel burner?
Or if it was from a thermal pv panel?
dont you need to work out how much water would be in the pipes/radiators etc.

If you want an exact amount . Drain it it and refill through a water meter.
