Can anyone recommend a good calibration service? My Alphatek Easitest is due next month.

Cheers

Ask your local wholesaler. Most offer a drop-off and collect service of some kind. Many calibration companies run calibration days at wholesalers as well.

Or better yet, buy a proper tester and do monthly cross checks! :D

Sorry don't, not in you area anyway, but I would be interested in what your opinion is on the Alphatek Easitest.

Looking to purchase a new tester next month and the usual confusion arises, read in another thread the megger trips 6A Mcb's because its a 10A test for Zs is the Easitest the same

Been using Robin seperates up until now and now aiming for the all in one

We have a few of the easitest multi function testers at work.

They are easy to use and reliable

They do not trip 6A MCBs on the standard ELFI test.

They do not trip RCDs on the trip lock setting.

It also has a handy auto RCD test setting.

Thats good to know, if spending your own dosh would you buy one ??

I personally think for the money they are about the best you will get.

I agree with those comments - it has a very clear user manual, and a separate booklet that explains the theory behind the tests. Manuals also provided on CD.

The auto RCD test is good - just cycle through reseting the RDB when is tells you too and then read off the results at the end.

Also easy to use when testing at light fittings, as when used with the strap it hangs neatly where you can see it and easily operate the controls.
