Can’t remove cylinder lock from door

I’m trying the change the barrel to one with a thumb turn on the inside. I’ve removed the screw but there’s a guard that’s stopping me from removing the barrel. Anyone come across a lock like this?

Try putting the key in and turn to a slight angle, it should then slide out.

How near is the letterbox? Tools exist to open them from outside...(skip to 4:00)

Thanks Andy that’s worked …….. however the new barrel has a couple of little nobbly bits and won’t fit through. Is it just a case of me buying the wrong one?

You have to take a few measurements to get the right size barrel. Look it up

The 'nobbly bits' are extra security features - you may want to read the installation instructions!
