just got lumiance giotto 305 fittings .. surface mounted .. recommends a 2d 4pin 28w bulb .. could i put a 2d 4pin 16w bulb in some of these fittings
can a 2d 16w lamp fit a 2d 28max fitting

No the sockets are different sizes and the lamps would fail early anyway due to overheating caused by lack of current limiting from the choke/ballast.
