Can a bulb be replaced in a DP shower switch?

Having fitted an electric instantaneous shower unit, I managed to break the connection on the DP switch between the bulb and its holder. Though the terminals in the switch are sufficiently sturdy for a 45amp/10mm twin and earth connection the bulb is a totally weedy item. Can it be replaced with anything more substantial or is this likely to invalidate its use from the manufacturers point of view? Thanks for any advice.

If it is MK, they have spare neons in the catalogue. It may be worth investing in a new one, if the price is OK, but if not or if the switch is not MK, then you may as well just get a new one. BG are not bad (designed by the guy who worked on MK's Logic range in the 70's) and are around a fiver for a 45A DP pullcord.

Mk Code for neon suitable for 45A switches is 17270 SS.
