Can a wall light be switched like this?

I have a discussion with someone as to whether it is good practice (or even allowed) to connect a wall light (e.g. cheap B&Q light) as on the picture here. It involves adding a connector block inside the light enclosure to connect the live wire to the light switch. This is at the end of a radial light circuit.
Can people give feed-back?
Thanks

Why not connect the switch line directly into the live terminal of the light thus eliminating the additional connector?

Apart from this , looks okay.

What you've done there is draw a loop in lighting circuit.

It's a standard circuit arrangement. Drawings can be found in the wiki.

I was just wondering if it was OK to add the connector block in the light. So can I add the connection to the switch using a fourth terminal that they put for the loop-in in some wall lights, as on this photo?
