Asking "just in case"
We plan to get this door for the downstairs rooms:
http://www.howdens.com/doors-joiner...nal-hardwood-doors/4-panel-oak-shaker-glazed/
My home office entrance is from the back of the livign room with light cream walls. Now in the office there is alot of woodwork so ideally I would like to retain the oak and lacque that side BUT I am sort of see wife's point that facing the living room (close to the seating area) it may be too "in your face" and he wants a white door(!)
I figured a possible compromise if this is indeed the case would be the paint the living-room facing surface white satinwood but not sure if this surface will allow overpainting?
