Have got a firestar combi boiler, 5 years old.

Had a leaking radiator taken off yesterday and ends blanked off until a new one is fitted. Heating and water fine all day yesterday.

Heating didn't come on this morning and pressure had dropped to zero. When I turn taps to increase the pressure nothing happens. If i put the boiler on after a while the water bubbles in the pipes so i thought it must be an airlock?. Think I have managed to bleed the boiler , though no air came out! Bled the rads too. It had a new pump about 3 weeks ago and also the plumber replaced one of the pressure tap thingys yesterday.

Is there anything else I could try??
It's soo cold

You must have a leak.

The supply must be turned off somewhere.

Well 4 minutes later you posted

Yes, it fires up no problem. It hasn't done a 'lock out' either.

So combustion is ok, the water supply is missing.

Hello oilman , thanks for replying.

The water supply isn't turned off. Yes there is a small leak, the engineer thinks it is leaking from undernaeth the boiler. It has been like this a while but the pressures never gone down to zero.

Do you think it could be something to do with the big round red chamber? I read something about putting air in it with a bicylce pump?

Search for "pressure expansion vessel". Its been done to death.
