my 01 ford focus,i can only lock it from the passenger door,it will lock with remote or on drivers door,but will open itself straight away,,,does anybody know how i can fix that??

Sounds like drivers door lock is not reaching the limit of it's travel, a squirt with WD40 may ease the situation, the lock has to move enough to close a set of contacts, in order for central locking to arm itself.
Could also be a broken wire in flexible harness into the door.

What happens if you try locking both the drivers and passenger door simultaneously from inside the car?

needs a new central locking latch common problem on older focus models if you buy a s/h one make sure its for remote c/l as the non remote c/l one is different horrible job to fit,colin

I never had any difficulty removing Ford central locking mechanisms. Always found them quite simple to replace.
