Ford Focus 2000 Central Locking Problem

Hi

I'm after some help and this site looked like a good place to ask.

I've got a Ford Focus 1.8 Estate.

When I try locking the car on the drivers door using the key or just using the button on the key fob... the car locks then unlocks.

Only way to lock it, is to use the key on the passenger door.

Any suggestions on the cause of the problem and how to fix it?
