We are currently havign a few issues with a friends Heatline Vivo boiler. We are thinking of having it moved to the other end of the kitchen whilst we get the faults fixed, may as well do it all together. However we had an RGI guy out today to quote us for this work and he who said we cannot re-use the flue, we will need to get a new flue. Is this true, and if so, why?

If the flu has been cemented in it can destroy it trying to get it out, but if your careful and patient it will come out without damage.

Of course a standard flue kit is only about £60 so if it takes more than a few mins to get the old one out un-damaged, it would be more cost effective to go with a new one! ;)

can you use any flue kit of does it have to be from that specific manufacturer?

+1 on above, i think that's the last advice you will get on that question

OP, if you have an RGI going to do the moving of the boiler then surely you can ask him?
