Hello!

My front garden was sadly covered over by previous owners with 4 foot thick concrete, and measures about thirty feet by twenty feet.

I would like to chuck gravel on it until we form a new front garden, as gravel will at least be more attractive than concrete.

Is there a problem with doing this? Is the gravel guaranteed to slip or will I get away with not having to chop up the concrete to form a hardcore base?

Many thanks
Tom

It will either be like a ice rink if you put the gravel down thinnly or wading through it if you put it down thick. Really the concrete needs to go.

I imagine you meant 4 inches thick rather than 4 feet?
