I'm trying to build a fence to keep the dogs on the deck and give the hot tub a little more privacy. The area that I want the fence has granite all around and would be extremely difficult to bury posts. Would it work to bolt either the posts or braces to the granite?

Any other ideas?

great! their granite rocks though, any tips for leveling? Do you think wood blocks might work?

Might be easier to level and let the posts set on a bed of mortar before bolting to the granite.

Unless anyone else has a better idea. :D

What we used to do with stantion bases (which are similar to those post base plates), is pack with washers, and then pour a load of cement grout under the plate to give a level plate. And then tighten the bolts

Obviously any significant projection, or slope of the granite base will need to be removed first - hammer and chisel?
