Can I cut this rafter?

Hi. I wondered if I can cut this rafter marked red below the purlin to make it easier to access an extension roof for storage. Thanks

It's hard to tell from the photo. It looks like a 4x2, so I don't think it will be a main support, but you'll need a chippy to look at it before going anywhere near it with a saw! You might be able to bolt 'sisters' to the timbers either side to add support, but PLEASE take advice first!

The angle that photo is taken at doesn't seem helpful at all; can you take more from different angles and zoom levels?

Its redundant now, just make sure its fixed at the purlin? before hand.
