Hi, one of the bigget building jobs in my house is to be the addition of a wall in my kitchen to accomodate a utility room and then knocking through to the dining room (currently a bedroom) to put a 4.5ft set of french doors in. Now the wall I want to knock through is 14ft wide and I want the doors central. This is a load bearing wall (have applied to building regs) is it possible to this with a competant DIYer friend and good advice.. or do I have to get someone in to do it for me? and what should I expect to pay? there are no wiring/plumbing/obstacle issues.. just curious as to where I could save some money.

Many thanks!
Marylou
