My bathroom has an illuminated mirror fitted by the previous owner but there is no shaver point. Can I just connect to the existing wiring ( comes from the lighting circuit ) or do the regs say NO?

Shaver points are usually fed from the lighting circuit. If the location is suitable for mounting a shaver outlet (i.e. zone 2 or beyond, unless the instructions state otherwise) then there shouldn't be a problem. Of course, if the mirror lights come on from the bathroom light switch then it follows that your new outlet will behave in the same way, which isn't much use if you want to leave things on charge.

Cheers guys. It is as I thought but the clarification is well received
BTW the mirror has a seperate switch.
