Hi
i'm going to be insulating my Bungalows loft and am going to be using the large, subsidised blankets you get from DIY chains and to save time can I just lay them over the rafters rather than cut and squeeze them between them.

If I do this it will obviously leave a small void where the elec cables currently run (only lighting and poss sockets, no shower or emersion) so I'm thinking they will be fine under there regarding performance, etc but are there any reasons I can't do it the way I'm Planning. (condensation???)

I will be doing it "properly" at the area by the hatch and raising a few joists to create a storage platform.

Thanks, Rob

What you suggest is fine. Just don't roll the blanket to the very edge of the eaves as you still want air to come in above the blanket to ventilate the roof=space.
