 Hi

Just a couple of questions.

I am going to fit GYPROC MOISTURE RESISTANT BOARD TAPERED EDGE
over an existing ceiling in an old room which is now going to be a bathroom.

I have been searching for ages - but I cannot find out if it's okay to paint on this "Green Paper" board (it is green on both sides).

If it is, then advice please on best product to 'seal' board AND 'joint finish' so that the filler/jointing compound does not show through the paint finish.

Also, what is the best tape to use - paper or that mesh stuff I've seen?

Thanks in advance.

The application of joint tapes, I would use the nylon reinforced ones, like this
Then use easifill joint compound to apply to joints, you will need three application of this joint compound, sanding after each one has dried.
The final application should cover about 150mm either side of the original joint and sanded to smooth using 150-grit drywall sandpaper.
Then you can apply Gyproc Drywall Primer
or Gyproc Drywall Sealer to leave the surface ready for
decoration.
Also remember when boarding ceiling, to stagger the joints.
