Can I repair this handle on my daughters bedroom door, the handle broke and I replaced it with a push and pull handle. Well that's now pulled out and damaged the wood.. Is there a way I can repair it.

Yes, you need a pair of handles fixed using sleeve nuts, which pass right through the door and screw into another part on the handle on the other side.

Widely available in chrome and brass plate.

You will need to drill through the door

If you take out the latch, you will find it has a couple of holes for these screws to pass through, but you may find you do not need them

P.s.
The screws in your picture are far too small, and it looks like the grubscrew onto the spindle was not tightened.
