can I tile over platerboard in a bathroom

I need to cover existing walls with board in a bathroom - can I tile directly onto plasterboard? or do I need to use a different material ie mdf or something else (help appreciated)

Use the green stuff in bathrooms and Aquapanel in wet areas. Yes you can tile on both.
