I'm pretty useless at traditionally manly things, DIY being one of them. I'm moving into a new house and there is no space for all my books. My plan is to turn an 8 x 6 garden shed into a library of sorts but not sure how realistic this is.

I'm planning on getting a single door windowless shed to maximize space for bookshelves and a chair.

My main questions are whether this is realistic or not? Will the condensation mean my books will get wet and moldy? What can I do to make it watertight? I can't find anyone else who has done this hence me joining this forum.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I'll think you'll find that any garden shed would be a pretty hostile environment for books.....it would have to be completely damp and condensation free and preferably heated a little.
Rather difficult to achieve with an average shed!

Agree with Burnerman. Putting them in the loft would probably be less bad for them.

The walls in a typical house generally have a lot of unused surface area, especially high up. I'd be thinking along those lines.
