l have just put up a extractor fan with timer in the bathroom.l have connected it up from the ceiling rose using the light switch as means of control. From the ceiling rose it goes to a triple pole isolating switch then to the fan. What l would like to know is can l put a pull cord in the circuit before the isolating switch so l can switch the fan of if l don't want it on with the light. If l can how would l do this.

The iosolating switch is high up.What l want to know is, if l can take the 3 core cable that's connected to the ceiling rose to a pull down cord before going to the isolator.Would l use a standard on off switch, and how would l connect it up.

Breezer , is there anyway you could put the circuit l need into a diagram.

not at this time of night

you break the live wire with your switch

Fit a triple pole pull cord, then you only need install one switch. Ashley make one.

l channelled for the isolator switch to be above the fan so it would mean more mess to move it.But if l cut into the circuit l can do this from the loft and put the switch in the corner.
