Shower is on what was once the external wall, just tiled. On the other side of looks like there has been damp issues, ie the pink patch. No mould, just looks odd and feels a bit flakey.

I've marked 100 and 170 from outside wall on each side.

the pink and yellow are typical colours of distemper. How old is the house?

86 years, but bathroom/kitchen extension later, 1950s maybe. There was a bath there before shower, don't know when that was changed.

Damp from a leaking shower tray can certainly go through a solid wall....the first signs are flaking paint and blown plaster.
John :)

Plan is to skim / plaster this room - will that possible distemper cause a problem? Will plasterer just seal it up?

The shower will eventually be renovated, so problem should go away...

Never even heard of distemper til today. Apart from in dogs.

this is what the other side of the wall is like. The adhesive is soft, so I assume has been damp for a while.
