hi, I'm after a couple of white moulded doors and saw some at a reduced price (75% off) but they are too wide. I need a 30" and these are 33". It has nine clear glass sections in the top half which have chrome strips holding them in. I was wondering if it was possible to cut off 1.5" from each side with a circular saw. Don't know what would happen (presumably fall apart!) as I cant tell if the sides are solid or hollow, and the sellers didn't know either. If there is a wooden batten down the side, could I just move it a bit further in, or maybe replace it with another thinner strip? Or shall I just forget the whole thing....

1.5" off each side is far too much. As you say, the door will probably fall apart.
Much better to buy 30" doors IMHO
