Hi

Just removed a deadlock from a fire door and it’s an unusual size?

The case/depth is 76mm/3” but the backset is 44mm.

The only locks I am finding with 44mm backset are 64mm/2 1//2” ?

Anyone advise please.

Thanks

Don’t think you’ll find one, so will probably have to fill snd redrill.

I might have one

Please post some photos, and mark the dimensions.

Is it for a front door?

Does it need to be a BS lock?

Would a sashlock be acceptable?

It’s an inside deadlock

It’s a thick solid door. 44.mm min
What would recommend to fill a big area?
I assumed from your description that the existing drilled holes would line up with the 44mm backseat, leaving a half gap at tne back, and maybe extra height of the new lock to be chiselled out

So the height of the case is three inches, as well as the depth?

The centre of the keyhole spindle is 44mm from the fore-end. How far from the top and bottom?

Are you concerned about the size of the fore-end, or will you chisel it to fit?

In your photo the bolt looks unusually large. Is that significant?

It is an odd size.

3” high and keyhole is set back 44mm.

I tried Screwfix. Toolstation and both local building merchants amd no joy.

I have put on a standard night latch it for now but find it odd that there is no replacement for this size?

My local BM stated it was discontinued and that I need to use a 3” case and a euro cylinder even though it an internal door??

Cheers.

There is a 44mm backset, which you want.

The height of the case is 90mm, which is more than 3 inches, so you would have some chiselling to enlarge the mortice. The Chubb 3G114 is 76mm high and 67mm deep, which would fit, but the backset is only 40mm, which is a little less than you want.

I can't see the thickness of the case mentioned. It nay be about 18mm. Old internal locks are usually less.

Is it for a fire door? How thick is the door?
