Can someone recommend a plumber in Hemel Hempstead

Hi,

before I pay BG around £700, I just want to get a independant plumber to give it a once over!

So does anyone know of a decent plumber in Hemel Hempstead area?

I want a 2nd opinion! Problem with my boiler - hot water is going hot & then cold!

Strange thing is - the shower stays hot, whereas the taps don't?

It's a combi boiler!

Its often a blocked plate HE causing that.

Why not tell us what the 1st opinion was?

You do seem rather economical with information!

it's an ideal he35.

BG have said it's needs a new secondary heat exchange + powerflush + maganetic filter.

The radiators & the shower is working fine! I was wantig to get another engineer round to give me a 2nd opinion - case it's something else!

get heating on full wait for while till boiler turns it self off
then check bottom of yours rads
also ask why can`t your boiler have sonic flush
this usaly bg first step before flushing system to clear the heat ex unless it realy bad

Plate can block up without the rads ever showing any sign of muck in them.
Does mickyg not work around that way try him he has his head screwed on

Why post again about the same boiler fault when you were given good advice in the previously.It just wastes everyones time going over the same details again.Why not ask for a recommendation in the 1st post.

well if u had sonic flush and you know how to look at rads well
what boiler have you got

What did you expect this "decent plumber" to actually do?

Call round and diagnose the fault all for free?

Before you enlightened us about the first opinion I confirmed what BG had diagnosed but at least if you dont want to pay anyong to visit for further opinions at least I did not have any travel expenses!

So what are you going to do now?

I am surprised that Mick will not go there as I go to Potters Bar and St Albans as my normal area.

Agile . Why does it surprise you. Being a good engineer micky will work local to his home by getting enough work through his reputation and recommendation.

But yeah can understand why you have to travel all over to get work
