Hi,
More for my understanding and planning right now, but my wraparound extention is set to have a box frame steel beam running below the floor (where the wall will come down), right down the middle of the room which will be encased in 100mm concrete. My question is, can the top of that encasement form part of the 100mm floor slab (if poured at the same time)?
If it can, I'm going to be unable to put the DPM under the steel trench/slab before the pour, so can some sand binding be added above the slab, with DPM on top instead of the usual below?
There will be a further 100m PIR and 50mm screed/UFH added on top.
Any alternative suggestions most welcome.
Many thanks! :)

Possibly. Whoever came up with that design should also detail it if that's that you want.
