I have a house with a wood burning boiler stove in the kitchen and a large insulated hot water storage tank in the loft.

The stove works really, really well for heating and cooking and because we have ample wood supply it's really pretty inexpensive. The tank will store the water at a decent temperature for around 48 hours from when the stove stops burning. This is fine during the winter as we have the stove on every day. The stove feeds 7 radiators and two towel rails via the tank.

My question is, during the summer, this summer in particular, we didn't need to use the stove every day (infact we didn't use it for a period of around 12 weeks)- we have an induction hob and separate oven for cooking for when the stove isn't used.

What suggestions do you have for hot water source for when we're not using the stove?

Immersion heater possibly one option
