Hi,

Im looking to fit a wider sink in the garage as Im now running a hot supply there. Sink currently only has a cold feed

Behind this wall is the downstairs bathroom and the toilet vent comes up this plastic soil vent and has an air admittance valve ontop

Is there any reason why the vent can't be cut right down, the admittance valve refitted and the whole lot possibly boxed in? Then I can fit a wider sink.

I don't want to move the sink as this is the best place for convenience.

Thank you in advance.

It has to be a set distance above the toilet/sink . Something like 250mm although I can't remember but you can look online.
I put mine 250mm above as that was more than regs said

Does it have to be vertical?

How about going right before going up ?

I did consider this but there is the 32mm basin waste going to the right, into a nearby gully. The shelving also runs all the way down to a brick pillar, so it would be quite arduous to re-route the vent anywhere else.

No reason, fit an A1 AAV, such as FloPlast, and it can be cut right down.
Thanks. I've just read the manual on Floplasts AAVs. It does state "they can be fitted below the flood level of connected appliances".

I assume this means anything off the floor level? So even as low as the clay pipe connector?
