Can you easily replace uPVC door hinges?

Hi all,

Got some uPVC door hinges that have scapes on them. Looking to see how easy it is to source replacements and swap over.

Do-able?

Basically, yes!
They are an easy swap.
It's simplest to change one hinge at a time so the new hinge adjustments match closely to the originals.
Make sure you read the instructions!
However, with yours, you may be able to get away with just changing the cover caps.

Those do look like the ones fitted. There are what looks like 4 screws possibly securing the cover cap that maybe the only bit that needs changing.

Not sure how you would get the right angle to use a screwdriver without taking the door off though...

Yep, not straight forward!
Image 5 on the instructions shows grub screws holding in hinge pins.
These would have to be removed and the door taken off the frame.
At least, if you only change the covers, there shouldn't be any adjustment to worry about

Was thinking of using touch-up paint, rather than replace the hinge parts as they are quite expensive, and the paint seems to come of easy on these exposing the metal underneath.

Any recommendations on paint?
