Hi guys

Came home from working away the other week there to find the other half had removed all the wall paper from the hall, this caused a bit of a barny as we have no money to do anything with the hall at the momet, typical woman lol.

i was thinking about painting the walls (have plenty of paint) but dont want to give us uneeded problems when we do eventualy have the money to get the walls skimmed, would painting the walls in the mean time cause any problems when we do eventualy come to get them skimmed??

Cheers

Kev

no NONE! paint away, whether painted or not the walls will need to be PVA'd before skimming anyway.

different ways to skin this particular can't aren't there RC!?

by using your DIY bond-it to give a key or sparrowpick like Micilin tends too, each way gives a mechanical key for the new plaster.

a little extra effort for the plasterer but no major implications and no reason he shouldn't paint.

but YES, have a read of it Kevstir a chance to learn something

Yep TM,, it is all in the prep. It's easy for us,, and we know what can be acheived by doing it this way or that way, but as you rightly said, a sound, painted wall is never a problem to skim with the right prep.
