As title says - On the outer skin I'll be using facing bricks below DPC as these will be on show. Above DPC will be blockwork rendered.

On the inner leaf, can I use a full block and a cut half height block to get to DPC? I'm using expensive imperial bricks on the outer and there is little option but to either use cut blocks or mirror the same bricks on the inner leaf to keep the DPC at the same height.

Doing bricks on both skins will be much more costly.

Cut or whole - makes no difference.
What might make a difference is your use of facing bricks below dpc if they are not frost-resistant.
"Facing" does not necessarily mean "durable".
