cannon oven

I have a Cannon Harmony Oven; Model No. 10211G. Sometimes when the oven is turned on the fan will not run. If I give it a bit of encouragement ie. flick the fan round it starts and runs normally. Will the fan require to be replaced or is there a built in starting circuit that could be the problem?

More likely it's gunged up with grease & a good strip & clean will sort it.

Thanks for the reply. However, although I haven't yet stripped it down it moves easily when turned manually and runs normally when oven is on and is flicked round to get it started.

Sounds more like a replacement fan motor then.

They wear out and

the bearings go (rattly fan)
Slow running (grease up shaft, bearings)
Sticking (both of the above as well as damaged or weak motor windings)

Thanks. Looks like a strip out job and clean up then if that don't cure it a new fan motor. Again thanks for your help.
