Hi all.

I have just replaced 2 Videx VX intercoms with the newer 3011 handsets.

Everything thing worked fine with the exception of the buzzer.

On closer inspection I noticed that new 3011 uses terminal 4 rather than terminal 6. I moved the wire.

Now the handset buzzes when the handset is in place but it is barely audible.

In the meantime I have removed the old buzzer and connected it to 4 and 3. Now I can hear the buzzer.

Should the 3011 be so quiet? Or do I need to swap any other wires?

Tnx

It does have a 3 position volume control but it ain't very loud.

So does the 3011 really just send the tone to the ear piece? And is it supposed to be so quiet that you can't hear it in adjoining rooms when the doors are closed (never an issue for the previous handset).

Thanks for recommending the external buzzer. TBH another wall fitting would not be practical.

Unless there is anything else I can do I guess I will stick to my hacked version.

Had I known that the new model was so quiet I would have stuck with the functioning but yellowed old one.

Tnx for your help
