Can't open the bonnet!

Hi there,

please help me someone!

I have a M reg Renault Laguna of which I need to get under the bonnet. However I cannot get the bonnet open! Basically when I pull the bonnet release leaver it feels very tight and nothing happens ie the bonnet doesn't release. Is there a way round this?

Sometime it help if another person pushing onto the bonnet up & down while the lever is being pull at the same time, others may know better

They have a stupid design with 2 catches on them (one either side of bonnet) and a cable joining them together, which pops off.
It is possible to flick the catches open with a long screwdriver and a torch through the grill, but its a frustrating job!
You'll probably find its the passenger side which is causing the problem.
