Bonnet release cable snapped

I fitted a new side light bulb to a vauxhall Zafira yesterday, and as i pulled the bonnet release handle it popped the bonnet, but then went loose. I changed the bulb and shut the lid, but then tried the handle again and it was still loose !!!

It's not the wind catch, but the post with a spring around it locks into a hole.

Any ideas how i can get the bonnet open so i can change the cable?

Thanks

Thanks, maybe i should've done that first  ....

But reading them, they seem a bit confusing... are they referring to the wind latch?

Plus i don't want to damage the grill.... how would a garage do it?

If the cable has snapped at the handle inside the car you should be able to grab the cable with mole grips and pull.
