Caple DI414 Dishwasher problem !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After swiching on ,on the 70 degree programme it runs so far before stopping and the on button flashes 4 times has a break then 4 times and so on ,it runs ok on the 40 degree programme ,when i open the door theres plenty of steam which leads me to think its not the heater .............can you help please ............cheers....Pete the dishwasher is about 6 years old

Caple is a badged make & most likely it is made by Whirlpool. You can confirm this by checking if the sticker on the door lip has a 12 digit service number that begins with 85.. If made by Whirlpool 4 flashes indicate a drain problem. Plenty of posts on the forum about this issue. Use the search function & type in F4 or 4 flashes. If you need further info post the service number.
