hi all

just to make you aware i know nothing about cars

I have daewoo matiz w reg (ok stop laughing) and the heater stopped working (it works but not hot air), I checked the coolant and there was very hot rusty water inside.

I have flushed the pipes and radiator using normal water until all the rusty water and lumps ran clean, filled up with with fresh 50/50 coolant and water.

Now I have hot (it hisses when i take the cap off) coolant and still no heater in the car.

what should I do/ try next.

many thanks

Find the rubber hose that goes into the top of the heater (or at least disappears through the bulkhead).
If you're lucky, there will be a bleed valve (sometimes a small screw, others a car tyre valve cap) in the vicinity and undo it until all the air escapes.
If no bleeding point, can you just release the top heater hose enough to achieve the same effect? Careful if the water is hot....
There may be other bleed points on the car.....thermostat housing, top of the main radiator etc.
John :)
