HI I HAVE A PEUGEOT 405GTX M REG ISUM TIMES HAVE A TICK OVER PROBLEM ON STARTING I HAVE TO KEEP FOOT ON EXCELARATOR TO KEEP GOING THIS HAPPENS FORADAY OR TWO THEN I PARK IT UP THEN NEXT DAY ALL IS OK ANY HELP PLEASE

Try changing the temperature sender(the one to the E.C.U.).

Cambo,

You don't say what engine is in your 405.however,the temp sender unit/switch is usually quite close to the thermostat housing (follow the top coolant hose).It will be screwed in somewhere near here.Normally it's a two wire connection (do not try to short the wires out,you may damage the E.C.U.) Cost about £10 to replace from a motor factors.A haynes manual would help for this and future tasks.Hope this solves your problem.
