I posted this question in electrical and it was suggested I might usefully ask here as well.
I've been asked to add a 13 A floor socket (for a standard lamp & laptop without a trailing flex) to a room with carpet and 11mm underlay. I've no queries on the electrical wiring side, but I'm not sure which floor mounted hardware would be best. Its a suspended chipboard floor.
A domestic 2-gang flap-covered floor socket is wanted rather than the larger recessed box installation.
My question is how best to deal with the carpet. Anyone solved this one?
