Hi, just curious to see if anybody thinks the way our stairs have been carpetted is acceptable? Think i'll be going back to the store tomorrow, at first glance I didn't really think anything of it but I could slide my hand behind that bottom riser. Its not right, is it?
Thanks in advance!

I think its fine. Like you say they could have fitted an additional gripper under the nose of the last step to eliminate that bagging type effect you can see from the side or at the very least spray glued it. Other than that from the pic it looks fine.

Thanks Jadele.
It doesn't seem right that the carpet's folded behind itself on this edge which made me think it was a botch. Think it just looks a bit odd as just assumed the 'bare bit' would have been carpetted. Maybe I just need to stop staring at it :)

that's how its done mostly on these type of stairs mate and it looks a neat job to be fair. you can get them to carpet the whole step. it not hard for a fitter but will likely cost more if it wasn't agreed when it was bought - not much mind you.

PS - Just wanted to say that if you wanted the bottom step covering it would be a simple thing and you would only need to recarpet the bottom step not replace the whole staircase. I just thought I would say that as if you haven't agreed it with the fitters then it simply a matter of fitting a 1.5 by 1m bit of carpet not a whole staircase.

Yeah, think i'll be doing that although its growing on me now you've convinced me its not a botched job! Cheers
