I have a 1900 Scottish red sandstone cottage. The front cast iron guttering actually sits on top of the front wall. Is there replacement PVC guttering that is installed in the same way. Using hanging guttering leaves a 35mm gap between the wall and the bottom of the guttering. This is a problem in wind and rain.

Why would you want to vandalise a period cottage with plastic?

Yeah it`s an OG cast iron by the sounds of it. If you can`t afford the cast iron you can get pressed ally.... cast ally.... or grp in the same size and design usually. Take a sample of old gutter to a good merchants. These types are usuall referred to as 4x3 or 5x4..ie height x width.
Don`t want to name a supplier in case it aint allowed
